I’m a Certified Sommelier and have been working in the beverage industry for 25 years including running real ale pubs in Edinburgh, looking after bars for 5 star hotels and even working as a cultural representative in the British pub in Disneyworld, Florida. If you know me already you will have noticed that I am very Scottish.

The photo above is me in corporate mode, selecting the wine list for the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. The frowny face is due to the dodgy pinot grigio in my hand. Of course the views expressed here are my own, yada, yada, yada.

A lot of my time is spent “studying” beer and wine at as many tastings and events as I can attend so I thought it would be worthwhile sharing some of my experiences with you.
